The Tamilnadu Corporation for Development of Women (TNCDW) Ltd. had piloted a watershed G.O through the Social Welfare Department for converging the services and activities of various Service Providers of various Departments of Government, and Non Government Agencies, keeping the Self Help Group movement as the focus. The SHG movement has become a silent revolution in not only the empowerment of women but also an effective tool for rural and urban poverty alleviation. The Government Departments have now realized the power of the Self help movement in reaching out their programmes and schemes to the poorest of the poor. 

        Sivaganga District is taking full advantage of this concept of convergence in furthering Government's Developmental goals.
